The British Food Fortnight is the biggest national celebration of British food and drink. Since its beginning in 2002, the British Food Fortnight has been uniting people working in the food and drink field in selling, promotion and of course consuming the fruit of their work.
Every year, profits and non-profits from the whole UK take part in the celebration through the whole two-weeks span. And, everyone are welcome to be a part of it. This year, the festivities started on 17 September, and will proceed until 2 October 2016.
For years, spending on food and drinks has been one of the main helpers of our economy, so naturally this year, we can all have fun and help our economy thrive.
There is an abundance of home grown food by local food gardens. Not to mention the hundreds of fruit and vegetable varieties (only 350 types of potatoes). Everything is in season on the British Food Fortnight.
If you’d like to participate, you can join in with your own home grown food. If you have a vegetable garden in the back yard (even a small one), or if you simply cooked something special for a whole squadron, you can join in and meet all kinds of people with the same food passions as you.
