Have you been looking for an honest, successful, always on the move CEO for an advice, or for a chat?
Reddit found one for you – Rune Sovndahl, CEO and co-founder of the domestic services success Fantastic Services, spoke openly about everything – from how to set up a business, to what challenges he had faced, to his newfound love – shark and cave diving.
After a friend suggested that Rune goes live on Reddit to shed a light on what being a successful entrepreneur is and how he keeps his head above the water, or more like 20 feet under it, Rune Sovndahl, CEO and co-founder of Fantastic Services, jumped at the chance. He came out honestly answering all questions, from starting a company from scratch, to the biggest challenges of the business, to keeping your cool while swimming with sharks. On 11 July, all Reddit users had the chance to chat to him. See what the fuss was all about.
Ask Me Anything (AMA) – Or Not?
Rune’s introduction was enough to wag the dogs to a point where he barely had enough time to read all questions, let alone answer them. But true to himself, he made a gargantuan effort, ensuring everyone got a piece of his mind, experience that is. What did AMA readers want to know?
Adrenaline at Work
Setting up a company with your own funding sure brings an adrenaline rush. Being asked what the biggest challenge was, Rune said, “the constant balance, between having enough supply and demand and not becoming a sorry company (“sorry – we didn’t turn up”, etc..).”
Adrenaline to Relax
And if you think managing over 500 people and 2,000+ franchisees delivers Rune’s daily adrenaline dose, you are wrong. He is in a constant need of new challenges, like his new 2 favourite hobbies: cave diving and shark diving. As Rune says himself, “my brain can only relax when in a life threatening situation.” Following rules, against your nature, like swimming away when seeing a shark, is what helps him at his daily work, teaching him to be patient and to keep his cool.
