Life Under Lockdown

Is a Cleaner Allowed to Come to Your House During the Lockdown?

UPDATED: 05.01

A work-life balance is hard to achieve. Add a lockdown to the equation and this balance gets even harder to keep up. The work doesn’t stop, and neither do the chores around the house. Your child is more active than ever. It seems like your tasks are multiplying. You know you could really use a cleaner right now.

But can a cleaner come to your house during the national lockdown? Is it safe? Keep reading to find the answer.

Are cleaners allowed to come to your home?

Yes, a cleaner can visit your home during a lockdown in Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3 and Tier 4. The latest official guidance issued by the Government explains what businesses need to do to protect staff and customers.

According to previous official publication:

You are a tradesperson carrying out essential repairs and maintenance in people’s homes or are carrying out other work in a home such as cleaning or paid-for childcare in a child’s home. You can continue work, providing that you are well and have no symptoms. No work should be carried out by a tradesperson, cleaner or nanny who has coronavirus symptoms, however mild, or when someone in their own household has symptoms.

It’s still allowed for a domestic cleaner to visit and clean your home during the lockdown as long as both parties are taking all precautions suggested by the government, NHS and WHO. Find out what measures Fantastic Services has taken regarding the COVID-19 outbreak.

Do we provide cleaning services during the COVID-19 outbreak?

Yes, we are operating as normal and continue to deliver house cleaning services during the lockdown period, including more specialised services like carpet, oven, window and end of tenancy cleaning.

We realise that your home needs cleaning and maintenance even during these uncertain times. We know you have more important things to do than mopping floors, dusting surfaces and cleaning windows. However, we are also aware that a new safety protocol should be followed in order to keep you, your relatives, and the cleaners safe.

Below you will find some of the measures the domestic cleaners have taken. Each cleaner:

  • Wears PPE (masks, gloves and additional equipment, if necessary);
  • Sanitises and disinfects their working shoes and uniform on a daily basis;
  • Frequently disinfects themselves using alcohol-based solution;
  • Always uses protective overshoes inside all properties;
  • Carefully seals and discards of all used cleaning materials;
  • Finishes with disinfection of all tools and equipment used for cleaning.

Our customers’ safety and well-being have always been a top priority for us. Here you can learn more about our COVID-19 approach.

Antiviral sanitisation & disinfection for your home

We are now offering a brand new antiviral sanitisation & disinfection service. It’s done with a certified non-toxic virucidal cleaner which is effective against a number of highly-contagious viruses and dangerous bacteria. We are available 24/7 and along with your home, we can sanitise your workplace and vehicle, too.

Is it safe to book a cleaner during the lockdown?

Your safety is really important to us, that’s why we are following the government and specialists’ advice to put protection first when providing all kinds of services.

Once you arrange a domestic cleaning service, you’ll be asked if there have been any coronavirus cases in your household. In case the answer is positive, we’ll NOT be able to send a cleaner to your home.

We continue to keep a close eye on the situation and we are constantly ensuring that all cleaners we work with follow the company rules regarding the COVID-19 outbreak.
