Are you an adventurer or an entrepreneur? Fantastic Services’ CEO Rune Sovndahl thinks that being one will make you better at the other. But why?
Director Magazine – the online and offline business expertise portal, is currently running a series of articles on “How Adventure Makes You A Better Leader”.
So they were only too happy to chat with Rune about why he thinks being adventurous in your private life sets you up for success in your business life.
Director Magazine, with their tagline “Inspiring Business”, are a fantastic source of business news, advice, and expert opinions. Their online and offline editions are often seen by more than 150,000 people – a solid audience for a magazine which provides a solid stream of information ideal for all business leaders.
Some of their recent interviewees include tech pioneer Dame Stephanie Shirley, global brand creator Jo Malone, and Metro Bank founder Vernon Hill. So Rune is in good company.
The Link Between Adventurists and Entrepreneurs
Director‘s current series of interviews on the link between adventurism and entrepreneurialism – sponsored by Jeep – has also featured some of the top names in business who also love a little daring-do in their private lives.
As a keen cave diver, scuba diver, and a man who has swum with sharks, Rune definitely qualifies as a bit of a risk-taker.
“It’s all about learning what can go wrong and being prepared for that. And you can apply that back into business,” says Rune, after being asked what he thinks adventurous people and entrepreneurs have in common.
As a died-in-the-wool adventurer, Rune had a lot more to say on the subject. And there’s some great pearls of wisdom in the other entries in this series of articles too – from Rebellion Games founder Jason Kingsley, and executive coach Kate Tojeiro, to name but two.
