Fantastic Removals – helping to deliver!
Moving homes can be one of life’s most stressful events. Even if you’re upgrading to a new, swankier place, transferring all of your prized possessions is a big deal. That’s why Fantastic Removals knows it’s important to get it right. This month, we were featured in The Times helping to move Lydia Barrett, a PR agent. Having moved homes more than once, this time, she chose to use the professionals after a previous moving experience from hell.
Unfortunately, last time she used an unregulated removals company to keep the move as cheap as possible; finding a company online that charged just £70. At the time, she didn’t know what a risk she was taking. Things got off to a terrible start when despite being advised of the time that she wanted her belongings collected, the removal company turned up 4 hours early. As is to be expected, she wasn’t quite ready and was told that she would have to pay the driver for his waiting time. Then she and her boyfriend were told that they would have to load and unload the van themselves! After loading the van, it promptly broke down. Everything had to be unloaded. Lydia called the company and they offered to send a newer vehicle but for a higher price. Finally, they managed to get the van fixed and reloaded but at this point, it smelt of cannabis. They got to their flat at 1 am, only to find that some of their possessions had been smashed as they had not been properly secured in the van.
After complaining to the company, they knocked £20 off of the price! It was hardly compensation for all the distress that it had caused. This time around, Lydia is entrusting her big move to us, a reputable and reliable moving firm – Fantastic Removals.
Hers is not the only horror story. The article also talks of Becky Szenk and Mark Higgins, who booked a firm found on Facebook to transport them from their flat to their new home in Walsall Wood. They loaded up their belongings and were never seen again! Then there’s the story of Rob McNeil, who hired a company to move him back to the UK in 2010. His removal company hadn’t emptied their bins before packing them. They found that insects called Katydids had climbed into the bin and bred. They were welcomed into their new home when unpacking to thousands of dead insects.
The moral of the stories in The Times, always trust your move to a professional and regulated moving company, like us. You can be safe and secure in the knowledge that we’ll get you moved, easily and hassle-free.
