Startups.co.uk, the online resource for new and fast-growing businesses, recently interviewed one of the co-founders of Fantastic Services, Rune Sovndahl. Our Managing Director shared snippets of company history, invaluable experience, and plans for the future.
With a turnover of £28 million in 2014 (and a set target of £36 million for the next twelve months) Fantastic Services is on the rise. If you’re a business owner yourself, you’ll probably be wondering what led Rune Sovndahl and our company to such success. Well, let’s take a closer look at what our co-founder had to say.
When asked to comment on the most common mistake entrepreneurs make, Rune said:
“Some entrepreneurs think turnover is income and think that the business account is their personal account… For venture capital-backed companies they think that… you just need to acquire clients as fast as possible and at almost any cost. This is a completely different model from what we call the sanity of profits and building value.”
The Managing Director shared the fact that he finds Tony Hseih’s book Delivering Happiness inspirational, and offered a word of advice to less experienced entrepreneurs, highlighting the importance of building a personal network, along with staying adaptive when it comes to planning for the future in business.
As far as his own plans for the future go, Rune revealed that the German and Scandinavian markets have caught his eye. Fantastic Services is dominating the UK, and we’ve already established ourselves as the leading provider of professional cleaning in other major cities across the globe such as Sydney, Melbourne, Las Vegas and Atlanta.
