This month Rune Sovndahl, CEO and co-founder of Fantastic Services, spoke to The Good Web Guide. The Good Web Guide is an online guide to the best sites on the internet. Their site takes the slog and guesswork out of finding what is best about life online for their visitors, across a wide range of lifestyle and consumer interests. So, we were pretty pleased that they were interested in Fantastic Services! They interviewed Rune about everything from our customers’ expectations to where he sees us being in five years’ time.
Rune started by explaining that customer satisfaction is at the heart of what we do and that’s what keeps us going. As Fantastic Services is continually growing, offering a wide range of services to homeowners and commercial customers alike, we need to keep our customers at the centre of everything we do. Talking about the challenges we face, he said that our biggest is meeting the standards that we set for ourselves. Also, how consistency is key to any business and that everyone needs to be delivering great service – from our cleaners to our customer service teams.
So where does his passion come from? He puts it down to his incredibly supportive parents and his unstoppable appetite for learning. The best advice he’s ever been given was “you are in charge of your own destiny and everything is possible”. He also praised the teams at Fantastic Services for being highly driven and committed; which everyone knows is a sign of a successful task force. Rune also said that he takes his inspiration from Duncan Bannatyne and his favourite quote is “Turnover is vanity, profit is sanity.” He believes that “You are only a service company if you actually answer the phone. Answering the phone is the first step of a fantastic service.”
However, as a business he recognises that we’ve had challenges along the way. With everything from customers that have never used a phone app (which makes using ours more challenging) to being over confident in certain areas. He also recognises that we’ve learnt a lot but it’s all made worthwhile, when he sees a Fantastic branded car on the street, or sees a member of the Fantastic team doing something wonderful with their hard earned cash. Such as putting a family member through university. It’s still something that to this day still makes him feel a sense of pride.
So what does the future hold for us? Company growth! Expanding all over the UK and internationally. Rune’s looking forward to Fantastic Services living up to its potential on a global stage. Let’s hope, if they speak to us again in another five years’ time, we can tell them we made it happen!
